 I dont think its Breast Cancer Awareness In October We Wear Pink Shirt offensive rather then uneducated. I think more social education would do good to society. They're not mutually exclusive and it's both. I was diagnosed with being high functioning autistic. I am a mechanical engineer. And most of my coworkers have worse symptoms for this than me I also distinctly remember a study that mechanical engineering was the career path most heavily associated with the traits of ASD - problems with social interaction with others - it is a stereotype of engineers for a reason, it is 100% true. Unusual interest in objects - I am this way with guns and explosives, and I work with warheads/rocket propulsion. Most of my coworkers are similar here.

As someone with autism and grew up in a school / highschool designed for people on the spectrum, autistic kids aren't noble, we're not a unique flower sent from above or any other bullshit, we're disabled, we're less than equal to everyone else because of that. You know what proves that we're less then equal? Work on a god damned cure, work on the stigma that comes along with it, get them the help they so desperately need. Yes it sucks being autistic, but I'm not noble or brave for dealing with something that I was born with, I'm unlucky and I've been dealt a bad hand by fate god, genetics or whatever you believe in. There's no autism and no autism imo, it's not like a pregnancy. It's a set of symptoms artificially defined as an aid in medical treatment. Same as many other psychological diagnoses, like BPD or depression.  That being said I'm starting to see a lot of autistic tendencies around me. I'm pretty sure we're seeing an increase here.   It can be a Yellow And Red Day Of The Dead Dia De Los Muertos Sugar Skull Baby Shirt hassle, and straight-up not worth it when there're some jerks in the seats..but I'll miss it if they never come back. On the best experiences, it's nostalgic, immersive, and memorable. Personally, I think there's something psychological to it. Experiencing a movie for the first time with other like-minded people, even though you aren't talking...it's not the same at home, both good and bad. Which basically means you like watching movies at home more. Obviously people would go to the theaters more if they were the only ones there. Not necessarily. The theater environment is much better for watching a movie. It's just some of us don't like people being loud and obnoxious during a movie.
