 I dont think its Breast Cancer Awareness In October We Wear Pink Shirt offensive rather then uneducated. I think more social education would do good to society. They're not mutually exclusive and it's both. I was diagnosed with being high functioning autistic. I am a mechanical engineer. And most of my coworkers have worse symptoms for this than me I also distinctly remember a study that mechanical engineering was the career path most heavily associated with the traits of ASD - problems with social interaction with others - it is a stereotype of engineers for a reason, it is 100% true. Unusual interest in objects - I am this way with guns and explosives, and I work with warheads/rocket propulsion. Most of my coworkers are similar here.

 I'm not  Seattle Seahawks Jack Skellington And Sally Love Shirt referencing just my experience, I'm referencing an issue that's been raised in the community: I've said above it depends on the autism, and that parents should not consider themselves spokespersons, especially if they're not willing to learn about the condition at large. Its not a disease or a disorder. It’s simply a different neural operating system. There’s nothing inherently bad about being autistic except that we tend not to function well in our current society due to it being very much not built to accommodate us. It’s not “unpleasant” or “abnormal” to simply exist as an autistic person, except for in the ways that society treats us. There are bad parts of it.  My son with sensory issues can be in downright misery from noises and sensory stimulation. You don't get to tell him how to feel. Yeah no cut this crap. Autistic people, as a community, should be speaking for autistic people. Parents overfocus on their one kid and forget there's a whole giant category out there and parents have a tendency to get really tunnel visioned. It's an actual problem. You can bring attention to your child and their particular needs without branding all autistic people the same way. Like I said, there are neurotypical people with their own special needs, as well. If we were more specific and considerate about them, using a broad ass label like.
