I went to a gas station one night, I had just found out my girlfriend was in a car accident and in a coma, so I was pretty distraught and embarrassed to be such a mess in public. The guy behind the register just assumed that I was having relationship problems (which is already offensive in the first place, if i was a dude I promise you he wouldn’t have said any of this in the first place). On top of that, as a gay female, when he started asking about if I was having “boy problems”, it just made me so much more upset. I don’t understand why cashiers ever think a customers personal life is their business, and this is coming from someone who works in retail.

 I'm not  Seattle Seahawks Jack Skellington And Sally Love Shirt referencing just my experience, I'm referencing an issue that's been raised in the community: I've said above it depends on the autism, and that parents should not consider themselves spokespersons, especially if they're not willing to learn about the condition at large. Its not a disease or a disorder. It’s simply a different neural operating system. There’s nothing inherently bad about being autistic except that we tend not to function well in our current society due to it being very much not built to accommodate us. It’s not “unpleasant” or “abnormal” to simply exist as an autistic person, except for in the ways that society treats us. There are bad parts of it.  My son with sensory issues can be in downright misery from noises and sensory stimulation. People are all different and the world doesn't revolve just around you and your kid. This is bigger than that. Deal with it. But you are going out of your way to do the same thing you are accusing me of.
